POWA campaigns for a complete ban on the hunting of wild animals with dogs
The Hunting Bill received Royal Assent on 18 November
2004. The Hunting Act came in to effect on 18 February 2005.
POWA continues to campaign to ensure this law is complied with in the hunting
field and upheld through the courts.
After ten overwhelming votes, over seven years, in favour of a complete ban
on hunting, the will of the people and the sovereign will of parliament was upheld - democracy indeed!
The hunting of foxes, deer, hares and mink with packs of dogs must be consigned
to the history books, where it belongs, with its likewise illegal bedfellows, cock fighting, dog fighting and badger baiting.
